Work Performed

In support of the Presidential transition requirements after the 2008 election, GSA was required to establish a full service network infrastructure to support the President-Elect’s transition. Focus was utilized to provide the architecture, implementation, and supporting requirements for the diverse network environment that was required to provide the services requested by the Office of the President-Elect.

Method

Focus organized a team that provided senior and junior level network and server engineers that provided in-depth knowledge of establishing a network that had the flexibility to meet the fluid requirements of the President-Elect. Our engineering team was responsible for network architecture, deployment, and day-to-day support. In addition, Focus provided engineering support for the deployed Windows services including Email and SharePoint.

Results

The development and implementation of a network infrastructure that supported seven locations throughout the Washington, DC and Chicago areas that supported the President-Elect’s seamless transition into the White House while supporting all staff with a 99.998% up time.
